Today we celebrate Reign of Christ Sunday, the final Sunday of our church year.  We proclaim that Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  We accept that we are all blessed to know Him, but also that our journey to be more Christlike will never be complete.  

We often say we serve the Lord, but we easily fall into serving the world and its false promises of fulfillment. Today we celebrate All Saints Day. This special day is an opportunity for us to give thanks for all those who have come before us in the faith and to remember the lasting contributions that they have made in our lives, in our church, and in the community of Christ.  

Today, we find Moses on the mountaintop overlooking the Promised Land. We celebrate that we do not need to climb a mountain to see God face to face. Through Jesus Christ, we can all see the very face of God.

Water is soft and yielding yet will wear away rock. Today we ponder some questions. What is strength? And what in our life belongs to God? Let us worship our Lord and give Him our praise this day, and every day. Amen.

Today, we take a fresh look at the Ten Commandment. We celebrate that they are not rules that must be followed under threat of divine punishment, but they are instead a blessing and show us how to find true happiness and contentment.

Today we celebrate World Communion Sunday, a tradition that started in 1936 to bring Christians together in a spirit of unity and peace. Let us remember why we come to the table and let us celebrate, that at Christ’s table, all are welcome.

This week, we as a people are challenged. Challenged to practice the radical hospitality that our Lord requires of us; the radical hospitality that accepts and welcomes all people to find refuge in our God.
